Dedicated to the memory of Andre

This site is a tribute to Andre Confavreux, who was born on 11th January 1945. He is much loved and very fondly remembered.

Andre passed away on Thursday 22nd April, in hospital, near his home in Six-Fours-Les-Plages, France.

These current extraordinary circumstances mean that we can’t say goodbye to Andre as we would wish. This tribute is a dedicated place where you can share the words you want to say, and remember and celebrate him as you wish.

You may wish to remember Andre with a donation in his memory. He was a regular supporter of the charity NSPCC and a lifetime member of the National Trust, where you can dedicate a tree in his name https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/plant-a-tree

Equally any gesture to any charity is much appreciated.

Isabelle

Andre has been in my life for 40 years. I do not know a time when he was not there. He was always there to offer advice, support and most importantly love whenever I needed it, and whenever my mum, dad and sister needed it. He had an enormous heart and I will miss him so very much. So many of my memories, especially those growing up include him. Some that pop into my head frequently are: Going to Nanny Confavreux's house and sitting in the boot of the car with Faye all the way there and back; Him walking my mum around the labour ward corridors when she was in labour with my sister as my dad couldn't due to a recent motorbike accident; Smoking his cigars and realising that they were disgusting when we were on holiday in France; The trailer club (Andre, Dad and Bob P); Him travelling the country on his motorbike and turning up at my house in Norwich for a cup of tea; My mum's surprise 40th birthday party being help at 41 The Rise; Faye's wedding - the photos of me, Anna, Julie and Andre walking up the road outside the church show how much fun we were having in his company. Andre, you will forever be in my heart xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I remember the first day we met you were all smiles and happy, your friendship was a blessing. It is ok to miss you, it is ok to cry, just know I will never forget you. We will hold on to our memories until this life is over; in our heath is where we will keep them Rita from Lyon
