Happy memories

What a sad and unexpected loss this has been. I remember taking him hillwalking to bag his first Munro. It was a beautiful day,  scorching hot  and after he endured a 90 minute car journey in my underpowered motor at the time we got started. My goodness that man could talk. Even on the steep bits when I was struggling to breath he was offering his thoughts on a wide range of subjects. The gap between us grew larger the further up we got he seemed to be powered by Duracel batteries and I by rubber bands. He was about 15 years older than me too. When we got back to Aberdeen he enjoyed sitting on the couch with a glass or three of my home brew wine chatting away, never a dull moment, nor silent one either. He was due to visit us last year also with the lovely Catherine on their way to Applecross  but the pandemic put a stop to that. I really can't believe that we won't see him again.
